About Us

Philosophy and Origin

Since our beginnings, we have considered charcoal not as a basic and homogeneous commodity, but as a specialized artisan product. This philosophy led us to dedicate ourselves also to the in-house production of charcoal, guaranteeing product quality and meeting the high demands of our international clients.

Production Process

The company owns a 3-hectare property equipped with 40 carbonization kilns that operate simultaneously. We carry out a preliminary classification of woods to obtain charcoals of different qualities according to their final use.

All timber used comes from forest exploitations authorized by the Forest Directorate of Chaco Province, backed by their respective forest guides. This ensures strict traceability from the origin (tree pruning, silvopastoral activities, land use changes, clearing of roads and fences, etc.). This practice generates value and labor for the local economy, by utilizing wood remnants with no industrial value (sawmills) that would otherwise be burned, leading to greater environmental contamination and harm to native fauna.

Carbonization is performed in 'half-orange' brick kilns, supervised by thermocouples that measure the internal carbonization temperature for efficient wood transformation/distillation, achieving the best yield and quality of the final product. The process is supervised by assigned personnel and monitored 24 hours a day online through cameras and domes, thanks to the availability of satellite internet (Starlink) at the production site.

Logistics, Packaging, and Export

The charcoal obtained at our Carbonization Center is rested and cooled for its subsequent transport in our own trucks to our own warehouse located 10 km away. There, it is classified and packaged according to client requirements. We offer paper packaging with our own brand 'Pampa del Infierno' or private label (third-party brands), in presentations of 2, 2.5, 3, and 5 kgs. For safety practices, the semi-bulk charcoal rests for a minimum of 15 days before packaging.

The final product is stored in 5,000 m² of covered space, where all goods are palletized with constant temperature monitoring. Exportation is carried out directly from the same warehouse, as we have a Domiciliary Customs Office. This allows for the consolidation and sealing of loads in Containers/Trucks at the same packaging location, avoiding additional handling of goods due to loading and unloading if they had to be transported to a Fiscal Customs Warehouse for inspection.

Certifications and Recognitions

Our strict traceability, from the wood to the final export of the product (charcoal), carried out entirely at the Company's facilities, has earned us the Recognition of the National Customs. Our Company, Agroforestal LD S.R.L., has been categorized as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) within the World Customs Organization (WCO) Program, which means we comply with global 'RELIABILITY' parameters required for foreign trade operators.

Furthermore, our commitment to our city, 'Pampa del Infierno', the birthplace of our family venture, led us to register our Charcoal brand under that name. Recognized worldwide for its quality, this brand earned us the 'Municipal Interest' Recognition from the mayor and the Municipal Council, as they consider our product an ambassador for the city of Pampa del Infierno, located in the Province of Chaco, Argentina.

Environmental Sustainability Projects

Currently, the Company is developing an environmentally friendly charcoal carbonization project. We are implementing a system for burning pyroligneous fumes through underground ducts. These fumes feed a large concentrating chimney that receives gases from several kilns, forcing the combustion of volatile gases generated by the kilns at higher temperatures in boilers, which significantly reduces our environmental impact.
